Rescuers start searching for a boy who disappeared during a storm on the beach in Chornomorsk

On the morning of July 29, rescuers began searching for a young man who went missing during a storm from the central beach of Chornomorsk in Odesa Oblast.

This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Odesa Oblast.

According to the rescuers, on the evening of July 28, they received a report that a boy born in 2009 had disappeared into the sea on the city's central beach. Due to the weather conditions - strong winds and large waves - it was impossible for the diving department to conduct search operations. Therefore, the search began in the morning.

Also on July 28, the police confirmed the information about the death of two people on the beach, and the mayor of Chornomorsk, Vasily Gulyaev, said that on that day, rescuers pulled 50 people out of the water, including 10 children.

The Black and Azov Sea Hydrometeorological Center predicted partly cloudy weather on July 29. At night, in some places there will be short-term rain and thunderstorms. During the day, short-term rain, sometimes heavy, thunderstorm. Southeast wind, northwest wind during the day, 9-14 meters per second, squall during the day during a thunderstorm, 15-20 meters per second. The temperature at night is 20-25 degrees Celsius, during the day 28-33 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, one child died and four others were hospitalized due to a falling tree in the city of Balta, Podil district, Odesa region. The teenagers were vacationing by the river. Bad weather started, strong winds kicked up, and a tree fell on the tent where the teenagers were staying. Rescuers arrived at the scene and rescued four children from under the tree and handed them over to medics. Unfortunately, the fifth child could not be saved.

Strong winds often break trees in the Odesa region. On July 17, a stormy wind also toppled 11 trees and large branches in Odesa. Prior to that, the Black and Azov Sea Hydrometeorological Center warned of dangerous meteorological phenomena of the first level (yellow) of danger in Odesa.
