Prisoners of war and missing persons
Missing persons are military personnel and civilians about whom there has been no information for an extended period during military conflicts. They may be held captive, wounded, ill, or deceased, but their fate remains unknown. In Ukraine, particularly in the context of Russian aggression, the search for and liberation of missing persons is an important humanitarian issue. Public actions and initiatives are aimed at drawing attention to the fate of prisoners and missing persons.
