Ozerne Village Faces Threat of Collapse into Lake Yalpug: Meeting Held!

In the village of Ozerne, Izmail district, Odesa region, private houses are in a critical situation. There is a threat of their collapse into Lake Yalpug.
This was reported by the Izmail District Military Administration.
In this regard, a meeting was held, which was attended by Natalia Todorova, head of the Safianivka village council, Petro Gergi, head of the Ozerne village council, and Kostyantyn Chumachenko, head of the land resources and ecology department of the Safianivka community.

The main topic of the meeting was the shoreline protection project on Lake Yalpug, which is intended to protect local houses from the collapse of the coastline. It was noted that the production of design and estimate documentation began in 2024. The work is being carried out by the state enterprise Odesa United Directorate for the Construction of Water Management Facilities, and the Ukrpivdendiprovodhosp Institute is acting as the general designer.

In addition, the meeting participants discussed the repair of the road to Ozerne village, which connects the settlement to the Odesa-Reni highway.
The administration assured that the work has already begun, and the main focus is on improving the road's travelability.
Ozerne is a village in the Izmail district of Odesa region, part of the Safianivska community. It is located 14 km from Izmail, on the shores of the largest natural lake in Ukraine - Yalpug. The area of the settlement is 88 km², the population as of 2022 was 5,558 people. The village has a developed infrastructure and convenient transportation links. Ozerne is known for its history, cultural heritage and traditions, and the local community is actively working to develop the region.
Meanwhile, rescuers from the State Emergency Service pulled a 59-year-old man out from under a landslide in the village of Sanzhiyka, Odesa Oblast.
