Legend of the Crimean Tatar scene Dilaver Settarov passes away

Dilyaver Settarov, one of the symbols of the Crimean Tatar scene, has passed away. He left a deep artistic mark in theater, cinema and song.
This was reported by the NGO "Crimean Tatars of Odesa Region".
Honored Artist of Ukraine, actor of the Crimean Tatar theater and singer of folk songs Dilyaver Settarov died at the age of 72. His life and work became an important part of the culture of the Crimean Tatars.
Born on December 22, 1953, he received his musical education at the Tashkent State Conservatory as an opera singer, but devoted his entire life to his native theater.
"Together with Dilyaver Agha, we have lost not only an artist, but a part of the soul of Crimean Tatar culture," the statement said.
As emphasized in the public organization, his stage images - sincere, deep and multifaceted - left a mark in the hearts of the audience. In recent years, he courageously fought a serious illness, preserving his inherent strength of spirit, dignity and warmth. This time the disease was more severe. Settarov was equally skillful at portraying both dramatic and comedic characters. His acting talent was also recorded in the plays and films of the Qaradeñiz Production studio.
In early June, Ayshe Seitmuratova, a legendary figure of the Crimean Tatar national movement, Soviet political prisoner and human rights activist, died in occupied Crimea at the age of 89. She survived repression, exile, and forced emigration, but remained a voice of resistance and struggle for the rights of her people until her last days.
Earlier, on March 9, 2025, at the age of 78, Gulizar Abdullayeva, a well-known activist and educator who dedicated her life to educating young people in the spirit of love for the Crimean Tatar language and culture, passed away.
And at the beginning of the year, Reshat Belyalov, one of the elders of the community and the father of political prisoner Memet Belyalov, who was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Russian occupation authorities, passed away.
