An entrepreneur from Henichesk, Kherson region, was sentenced to four and a half years in prison with confiscation of property for collaborating with the Russian occupiers.

The relevant verdict was handed down in absentia by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Chernivtsi.

According to the case file, he was found guilty of collaboration under Part 4 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. In addition to the prison sentence, the court banned the businessman from holding leadership positions in any organization for 10 years. The verdict has not yet entered into force.

According to the Center for Investigative Journalism, the man in question is 32-year-old Yevhen Maslakivskyi. Since 2016, he has been engaged in car repair and maintenance in Genichesk. After the occupation of the city, he registered as an individual entrepreneur with the Russian occupation authorities and continued his activities. In May 2023, Maslakivsky signed a contract with the so-called Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kherson region for the maintenance of vehicles, for which he received more than 1.2 million rubles.

On June 1 and August 28, 2023, he signed agreements with the illegal enterprise Kherson Avtodor, receiving more than 430 thousand rubles.

He also provided services to the occupation prosecutor's office, earning almost 175 thousand rubles for two contracts on June 27 and December 25, 2023.

At the end of January 2024, he signed two more contracts with the "prosecutor's office" for 522 thousand rubles and partially fulfilled them.

In court, witnesses said that Maslakovsky openly supported Russia's actions, wore a Russian military uniform and repaired cars for the Russian military.

In January 2025, the Security Service of Ukraine notified Maslakivsky in absentia of a new suspicion of aiding the aggressor state. He is accused of repairing vehicles for the occupation security service in the Kherson region. For this crime, he faces 10 to 12 years in prison.

According to the YouControl portal, before the full-scale invasion, Maslakivsky was engaged in entrepreneurial activities, participating in tenders from budgetary institutions in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. He received the last contract on May 24, 2022, from the State Joint Stock Company Chornomornaftogaz.

The deputy occupation village head in Kherson region will also be tried for collaboration.
