The Infrastructure Restoration and Development Service in the Odesa region has begun the search for a contractor to build additional lanes on the Odesa-Reni international highway near two border crossing points. More than 147 million hryvnias have been allocated for this project.
Information about the tender has been posted on the Prozorro system.
The procurement is being conducted as an open tender with specific conditions. Interested parties may submit bids by October 28, 2026, and the auction is scheduled for October 29.
The project involves sections of the M-15 highway leading up to the two checkpoints, “Mayaki” and “Udobne.” The plan is for vehicles waiting to pass through to remain in separate lanes rather than occupy the main roadway. This is expected to change traffic flow on one of the main routes from Odesa to the Moldovan and Romanian borders.
The procurement pertains to a major overhaul. The work includes not only widening the road but also rebuilding the roadbed, replacing part of the asphalt, and improving the shoulders. The estimated cost, which exceeds 147 million hryvnias excluding VAT, covers both the development of project documentation and the construction work itself.
According to the technical specifications, the contractor must:
- lay more than 14,500 square meters of the top layer of asphalt concrete (this volume includes both new lanes and repairs to the existing pavement);
- install 79 traffic signs;
- apply nearly 8.7 kilometers of road markings;
- install 70 meters of metal guardrails;
- install six LED lights;
- construct drainage structures to divert water from the roadway.
There are no plans to completely close the highway. According to the technical specifications, the contractor will work on one half of the roadway, while traffic will use the other half.
In addition, the Odesa Region Infrastructure Restoration Service has announced four tenders for the installation of 39 mobile shelters at checkpoints and on access roads.
