Mykolayivoblenergo took part in a meeting of state electricity distribution system operators. At the meeting, the participants considered a strategy for a joint operational response in the event of massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.

The meeting was convened by state-owned distribution system operators, which are part of JSC Ukrainian Distribution Networks, on behalf of the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko.

The meeting was held in Kharkiv with the participation of representatives of Zaporizhzhyaoblenergo, Ternopiloblenergo, Cherkasyoblenergo, Kharkivoblenergo, Khmelnytskyoblenergo, andMykolaivoblenergo.

According to Herman Halushchenko, the enemy does not stop shelling the Ukrainian energy infrastructure, and in such conditions it is extremely important to coordinate actions and provide emergency support where it is needed at a particular moment.

Regional power distribution companies must be ready to take quick decisions and actions in such situations - this applies to both repair crews and equipment and special machinery that can be used to provide assistance in other regions," the Minister of Energy of Ukraine emphasized.

During the meeting, representatives of the operators discussed the state of preparation of the energy infrastructure for the heating season, measures to increase the capacity of distributed generation and backup power supply to critical facilities.

They also discussed emergency drills for operational staff to respond to emergencies, as well as the availability of equipment, materials and fuel for prompt restoration of grids.

Special attention was paid to developing roadmaps for mutual assistance in case of accidents.

At the end of September, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal inspected the process of protecting energy infrastructure and preparations for the heating season in Mykolaiv region. The officials inspected the construction of engineering fortifications at power substations. The Prime Minister also said that Ukraine is actively developing a distributed generation system.

"Mykolaivoblteploenergo has committed to complete the construction of five distributed generation facilities equipped with gas-piston cogeneration units with a total capacity of 5.5 MW by the beginning of the heating season.

Denmark has also decided to support the energy resilience of Mykolaiv region. This assistance is part of the Danish-Ukrainian Energy Partnership Program (UDEPP), which aims to strengthen energy policy, increase efficiency and integrate renewable energy.

Thus, Denmark has planned to provide a new aid package worth EUR 44 million to Mykolaiv region to restore energy in the region. In total, a EUR 64 million support program for Ukraine has been approved as part of the cooperation.

In addition, the International Atomic Energy Agency decided to expand its assistance to protect energy infrastructure in the region. This happened after a series of missile attacks that caused several nuclear reactors to shut down. In particular, Ukraine will receive the necessary spare parts for emergency diesel generators at the South Ukrainian NPP. These generators are needed to ensure the safety and reliability of the plant in the event of a loss of external power supply.
