The Armed Forces of Ukraine are ready for any actions of the aggressor. Some of the training was allowed to be photographed.
Photos provided by a military spokesman.
As a reminder, on the night of March 12-13, a passenger train was hit by shelling near Brusyn in Donetsk Oblast. The train was on its way to Liman for an evacuation trip to pick up residents of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts who were caught in the middle of fierce fighting.
As a result of the injuries, one of the train's conductors was killed, while the other was wounded and taken to a hospital in Sloviansk, where she is currently being treated.
This is a terrible blow to those who save Ukrainian civilians every day and have paved the "road of life" for more than 2 million people who have been saved.
Ukrzaliznytsia is now making every effort to evacuate the crew of the damaged train and all passengers, including about 100 children who were waiting for rescue at the Lyman station.
10:39 Yevhen Matveev, mayor of Dniprorudne in Zaporizhzhya region, has been kidnapped by the occupiers.
This was reported by the head of Zaporizhzhya regional administration Oleksandr Starukh.
"War crimes are becoming systemic. The mayor of Dniprorudne , Yevhen Matveev, has been abducted," he wrote.
12:20 Human Rights Ombudsman Lyudmyla Denisova reports that as of 10 a.m. on March 13, 2022, 85 children have been killed and about 100 children have been injured since the beginning of the Russian Federation's invasion of Ukraine.
13:59 "The Prosecutor General's Office has launched an investigation into the self-proclaimed mayor of Melitopol on the fact of high treason," Iryna Venediktova.
14:30 A 51-year-old New York Times correspondent was shot dead in Irpen today, according to Anton Gerashchenko, an adviser to the Interior Minister.
Another journalist was wounded. Now they are trying to take the victim out of the combat zone.
"Of course, the profession of journalism involves risk, but US citizen Brent Renoud paid with his life for trying to cover the cunning, cruelty and ruthlessness of the aggressor," Gerashchenko wrote.
14:49 A US tanker carrying 100 thousand tons of Russian oil to Europe has been spotted in the Black Sea.
This is reported by the monitoring group of the BlackSeaNews editorial office and the Institute for Black Sea Strategic Studies.
According to researchers, 100 thousand tons of Russian URALS oil costs about $68 million, which is equivalent to the cost of about 10 Russian Kalibr cruise missiles.
15:05 Mykhailo Podolyak: "For your understanding. Russian representatives are no longer saying something ultimatum at the talks, but are listening carefully to our proposals. Ukraine will not give up its positions. Our demands are the end of the war and the withdrawal of Russian troops. I see that there is an understanding of this process and a dialog."
15:53 SBU detains Russian informants in Kharkiv, Odesa and Sievierodonetsk. Over the past day (March 12), several informants were detained who were collecting intelligence for the occupiers. In Odesa, an agent was detained who was collecting information about the defensive structures that the self-defense forces have set up in the region.
16:34 This morning in Melitopol, the head of the district council, Serhiy Pryima, was allegedly kidnapped. According to RIA Melitopol, at 7:30 a.m., 8 people came to the house of Serhiy Pryima to search it. They took all the equipment and detained the head of the district council himself. This is the third abduction in Melitopol. On March 11, armed men detained the mayor Ivan Fedorov, and on March 12, activist Olga Gaisumova.
17:07 Another kidnapping: Russian occupants kidnap Leila Ibragimova, a deputy of Zaporizhzhia regional council, and Yulia Polikarpova, a deputy of Melitopol city council.
17:44 Melitopol City Council has appealed to Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova and the Cabinet of Ministers to open criminal proceedings for treason against members of the Opposition Bloc political party, as Russian troops want to create an occupation administration in Melitopol with their participation, said deputy Yulia Polikarpova.
"We see how much they are working not for Ukraine, but for the aggressor state - the Russian Federation," the MP added.
17:58 Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Defense Hanna Malyar: "As of now, the enemy's intensive advance deep into the territory of Ukraine has been stopped. You can see from the news that the intensity of active fighting has decreased. That the enemy has suffered huge losses and is forced to replenish personnel and regroup troops." Since the enemy did not achieve immediate results, they are now trying to achieve at least something to report to their command. Therefore, they will try to gain a foothold on the borders of the temporarily occupied territories. And this is where the position of the local community is extremely important. Tokmak, Melitopol, Kherson do not allow the enemy to implement such plans. The enemy army is destroying our cities, villages, and civilian infrastructure. They are trying to intimidate us and break us psychologically. But the Ukrainian nation is unbreakable.

This was reported by Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova. In particular, 259 proceedings are in Chernihiv region. According to Serhiy Vasylina, the head of the Chernihiv regional prosecutor's office, this includes the bombing of schools, residential buildings on Bohun and Chornovil streets, the shooting of people near Anysiv, and the shelling of the stadium and the Ukraina hotel.

18:50 Anyone can now follow the events in Ukraine online for free at Diia. Diia.Radio will broadcast 24/7, even if regular radio stations in your city are not working.
19:30 Three journalists have been killed since Russia started a full-scale war in Ukraine, according to the Foundation for Justice for Journalists (JFJ). Journalist Viktor Dudar was killed during the fighting near Mykolaiv, Live cameraman Yevhen Sakun was killed in a rocket attack in Kyiv, and American video journalist and former NYT writer Brent Reno was killed in Irpin.
21:10 In the Kyiv region, two soldiers of the 36th separate Guards motorized rifle brigade of the Lozova Red Banner Brigade of the 29th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District voluntarily surrendered to the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces with weapons and ammunition. In particular, the deputy commander of a rocket-artillery platoon, Sergeant Major Aleksandr Galyaminskikh (born on January 2, 1981 in Prague, Czechoslovakia) and a rifleman of a motorized rifle platoon, Lieutenant Maksimov Maksim (born on March 30, 1990 in Kyakhta district, Republic of Buryatia, Russia). According to them (and almost all the captured occupants say the same thing), they did not know that they were going to kill the civilian population of Ukraine, but simply "got lost" during the training. Having come under targeted fire from the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the crew left their damaged BMP-2 on the side of the road and scattered into the forests. For several days, the soldiers wandered around Polissya without food and water, feeling constantly hungry, cold and tired. Given all the circumstances, they decided to voluntarily surrender to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. By the way, Petty Officer Halyaminskykh grew up in Odesa and graduated from a nautical school in 1999. His brother Andriy and uncle Valeriy live there now. In addition, his wife Lidia is a native of Odesa, who also has many relatives there: her mother, Halyna Anatoliivna, aunt Lyuda, and other close friends, Tetiana, Olha, and Serhii.
