From diesel to chainsaws: what Kherson parks spent money on

While citizens see well-maintained squares, parks and municipal vehicles on the streets, hundreds of procurements are going on behind the scenes. In the first six months of 2026, Kherson's Parks Municipal Utility announced purchases worth more than UAH 3 million, the bulk of which was for fuel, tires, and equipment maintenance.
Intent analyzed the largest purchases of the department through the Zakupivli.pro platform. It is worth noting that the analysis is based on the expected value of procurement, as the initial price may decrease during auctions.
The largest expenses were incurred for the maintenance of the vehicle fleet and specialized equipment. Diesel fuel was among the most expensive purchases. In April, the company made two large purchases of fuel for UAH 430 thousand and UAH 220 thousand. Another UAH 500 thousand was planned for the purchase of diesel fuel under a separate procedure.
The company also made purchases to upgrade tires for vehicles. The documents show the purchase of tires for UAH 478 thousand and a separate purchase of truck tires for UAH 419 thousand. However, some procedures did not take place due to the lack of a sufficient number of participants or other technical reasons.
A significant item of expenditure was the maintenance of special equipment. The utility regularly purchased spare parts, materials for vehicle repairs, oils, coolants, pumps and other components. The company spent tens of thousands of hryvnias on vehicle repairs and maintenance alone.
Separate funds were allocated for vehicle insurance. The cost of purchasing compulsory motor third-party liability insurance for owners of land transport amounted to UAH 74 thousand.
In addition to transportation, the company purchased tools and equipment for urban improvement. In particular, chainsaws worth UAH 41 thousand, blowers worth UAH 32 thousand, and spare parts for tools worth almost UAH 32 thousand.
The procurement list also includes accounting software, services for its implementation and maintenance, staff development, household goods, stationery, property valuation and other current needs of the enterprise.
The procurement analysis shows that the bulk of the funds of ME "Parks of Kherson" are used to maintain the efficiency of equipment and transportation, without which it is impossible to clean the city, remove waste, maintain green areas and perform other municipal works. The total amount of purchases exceeded UAH 3.3 million.
In comparison, Mykolaiv Parks made purchases worth almost UAH 10 million. Most of the money was spent on waste management, utilities and maintenance of specialized equipment.
Meanwhile, Odesa-based Miskzelentrest spent over UAH 32 million. Most of the money was spent on fuel, water supply, landscaping, maintenance of irrigation systems and repair of city infrastructure.
