The Executive Committee of the Odesa City Council decided to dismantle the pump room building, which is located near a private inclusive beach.
As the mayor of the city, Gennadiy Trukhanov, explained at the meeting of the executive committee, the pump room was built without permission.
"We just want to put things in order there, we are not trying to interfere with the commercial inclusive beach," he added.
According to Trukhanov, the municipality is also equipping the beach for people with disabilities, as the city is moving towards building a barrier-free environment.
"We will provide the inclusive beach with water supply and sewage in accordance with the project documentation, unlike the commercial Kaliton beach. And we will make a swimming pool for people with disabilities," the mayor said.

As previously reported, , Odesa is preparing to expand the Dolphin beach area and create special infrastructure for people with disabilities. The Department of Engineering Protection of the City Territory and Coastal Development has been officially appointed as the customer for the design and reconstruction of this beach.
At the time, Hennadii Trukhanov explained that the main goal of the project was to create an accessible space for all categories of citizens, including people with disabilities and veterans. It is about arranging a special heated pool with sea water, where visitors with limited mobility will be able to comfortably improve their health even in the cold season.
In turn, Yuriy Degas, the owner of the private beach Kaleton, which is also located on this site, claims that entrepreneur Kostiantyn Tkach, with the support of Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov, began to build up the last pieces of the coast and to justify this construction, the mayor's office began to create its own inclusive beach.
