Trukhanov is confident that law enforcement officers will not find any violations in the work of departments and MEs

Recently, law enforcement officers have drawn attention to the activities of some departments of the Odesa City Council, departments and municipal enterprises and institutions. They are conducting searches and checking documents.
During a meeting of the executive committee, Trukhanov asked his subordinates to assist law enforcement officers in conducting their inspections and obtaining all the documents they want to see.
"We are working with you today, like the whole country during martial law. We have staff shortages in almost every department, in every office. The workload on people is very high, so transparency, openness and assistance to law enforcement officers is essential to ensure that they carry out all their procedures," said the head of Odesa.
According to the mayor of the city, Gennadiy Trukhanov, nothing unusual is happening.
"I am sure that we have no violations," he added.
This week, detectives from the Bureau of Economic Security and prosecutors searched the premises of the municipal enterprise Specialized Installation and Maintenance Unit of the Odesa City Council. Law enforcement officers allegedly became interested in the utility company because of price gouging during the purchase and installation of uninterruptible power supplies for the city's traffic lights. The prosecutor's office believes that during 11 procurements for these sources, from August to December 2024, SMEP chose a supplier with a fivefold overpricing. The total amount of purchases allegedly reached UAH 40.8 million, and the losses to the state amounted to more than UAH 15 million.
Intent asked the Odesa municipality for a comment on the searches at the utility company, but received no response.
Also on June 16, officers of the Bureau of Economic Security served a notice of suspicion to Iryna Kutsenko, a member of the Odesa City Council, in a case of corruption at the Center for Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS.
