The Odesa Regional Military Administration (OMA) is asking to restore the possibility of yachting in the region and has already sent a package of documents to the Office of the President and the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) to resume yachting.

This was stated by Deputy Head of the Regional Military Administration Serhiy Kropyva during Freight Forwarders Updates 2025.

"As a person, I would like this time of yachting resumption to come as soon as possible. We had active conversations with the Navy and raised this issue among all categories of the military. But it was decided that this issue should be considered by the National Security and Defense Council, and this procedure is in the process of being approved," Kropyva said.

He added that it is difficult to say when the yachting might resume, but the UIA is working on it.

At the same time, Mr. Kropyva noted that at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, many entrepreneurs asked the UBA to help them take their yachts out of Ukraine.

The issue of resuming yachting has certain security risks, as recently the Ukrainian Navy destroyed another sea mine that washed up on the coast of Odesa region. It was the second mine to be destroyed in a week. On Monday, January 27, they also destroyed a mine that had washed up on the coast.

The Ukrainian Navy also destroyed a mine that washed up on the coast of Odesa region on December 2. On September 16, they destroyed a sea mine that had been washed up on the coast in Odesa region by a storm the night before. The mine was shot with a machine gun in compliance with all safety measures and isolation of the explosion site.
