The tourism industry in the Lyman community in Odesa Oblast has been out of business for three years because of the war, resulting in annual budget losses of UAH 7 million.
This was reported by village head Vasyl Reznichenko.
According to him, the number of children in pre-schools and schools in the Lyman community has significantly decreased. Until 2022, more than 60 children attended kindergartens, but now there are no more than 25 children in each institution. The situation in schools has also deteriorated, with many families forced to leave the community due to military threats, shelling, and economic hardship.
In addition to the demographic decline, the community has faced a staff shortage. There is an acute shortage of qualified specialists - land surveyors, heads of public utilities, landscaping workers, financiers and accountants.
Workers are especially needed for spring work in the settlements of Lyman and Trapivka starosta district.
The community authorities called on all job seekers to join the team.
"I invite new people to join us," perhaps someone who is looking for work, has free time, hands and the opportunity to join our team will read this right now? For our part, we offer a not very high, but stable remuneration that can help you get through this difficult time. We will be happy to consider your applications," the village head said.
According to Riznichenko, the war has also hit the community's tourism business, which has been closed for three years in a row. This leads to annual budget losses of about UAH 7 million.
Meanwhile, in Odesa, the commissioners agreed to finance the overhaul of the inclusive beach at the 11th station of the Big Fountain. The allocation of UAH 17.2 million was approved as part of the "Barrier-Free Odesa" program. It is planned that after the repair, the beach will meet all accessibility requirements and will open to visitors in the summer season of 2025.
