The Kherson City Military Administration has decided to inspect and replace commercial meters in apartment buildings that were flooded after the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant was blown up.
According to the order of the head of the city's military administration, Roman Mrochko, the city utility Khersonteploenergo is to inspect the meters in these buildings by February 1, 2025. If they are found to be defective, they will be replaced at the expense of the city budget by April 15, 2025.

Local authorities are instructed to provide access to the premises where heat meters are installed for the company's specialists.
The list of buildings to be inspected has already been determined. The list includes 34 condominiums and residential buildings in the Korabel neighborhood.
On the night of June 6, Russians blew up the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. At least 34 people were killed and 28 others were injured. Almost 40 people are missing. People and pets were evacuated from 3 flooded areas.
Int'l correspondent Albina Karman reported on the evacuation of people from the flooded areas.
The destruction of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant resulted in almost $14 billion in losses, and the restoration of the plant and new alternatives for water supply remain a subject of debate among experts. However, this figure is not final, as it does not take into account the damage to the agricultural sector and industry. According to him, the absence of the reservoir has led to a serious shortage of fresh water, losing 35% of the country's reserves.
Meanwhile, environmentalists reported that a unique forest of young willow trees covering more than 65,000 hectares has been formed at the bottom of the former Kakhovka reservoir. The tallest trees have already reached a height of five meters, demonstrating a record growth rate due to rich black soil and favorable climatic conditions.
