On June 10, at the 70th session of the Izmail City Council , deputies decided to participate in the international cross-border project "CBC_AEGIS - Construction, modern medical equipment and facilities to strengthen cross-border cooperation and community development."
This was reported by Intent with reference to the decision of the city council.
The project is being implemented within the framework of the Interreg NEXT VI-A Romania - Ukraine 2021-2027 Program and aims to improve medical infrastructure in the border regions of Ukraine and Romania. The total budget of the initiative is EUR 1,546,651.03, of which EUR 353,124 is provided for the Izmail City Council. The share of co-financing from the city budget will be 10% - EUR 35,312.40.
The main partner of the project is the Tulcea County Council (Romania). Other partners are the youth public organization "New Generation of Europe" and the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council.
As part of the project, the Izmail City Central Hospital will receive new modern medical equipment, including an X-ray system (C-arc), two anesthesia stations for the operating room, and a ureterorenoscope. This will significantly improve the quality of medical services, reduce the time of surgical interventions and make treatment less traumatic, especially for children and elderly patients.
The project also includes 20 information seminars for medical professionals in Ukraine and Romania and 4 first aid trainings in the Izmail district.
The AEGIS project as a whole aims to upgrade and improve medical services that have a significant health and social impact on regional communities. In neighboring Romania and in Izmail, the project plans to build and modernize the Tulcea County Emergency Hospital and Izmail City Central Hospital. As the main partner of the project, Tulcea County Council will build a modern facility for the new forensic medical service building (morgue/prosthetics) with appropriate equipment and auxiliary machinery.
Recently, the Executive Committee of the Izmail City Council received a letter from the Selection Committee of the Interreg NEXT VI-A Romania - Ukraine 2021-2027 Program informing that the project has passed the competitive selection process and the dates of signing the grant contract and starting the implementation of project activities are being considered.
