Psychological support shelters for military personnel and their families opened in Mykolaiv

Three branches of the Center for Psychosocial Support and Social Issues for Veterans, Servicemen and Their Families have been opened in Korabelny, Ingul and Central districts of Kherson.
According to Viktor Moiseev, director of the center, the opening of the institutions took place as part of a project of the international organization Project HOPE: International partners equipped the premises of the branches to provide psychological support, hired social work specialists and two psychologists, and will pay for the work of specialists for at least a year.
"The psychologists work closely with the city's veterans' support center to help veterans and their families improve their mental state and regain strength," said Kane Cordolino, program director of Project HOPE, an international humanitarian organization .
First Deputy Mayor Vitaliy Lukov noted that such centers should be in all districts of the city. As of November 2024, the city authorities are working on their creation. In total, Project HOPE has spent more than seven million dollars to support the mental health of Ukrainians.
Earlier, a rehabilitation unit was opened at the Mykolaiv Regional Clinical Hospital of the Mykolaiv Regional Council after renovation. Here, thanks to the financial support of the international organization Project HOPE, a modern renovation was made, offices and wards were equipped with special furniture and equipment for patient rehabilitation.
In addition, thanks to the support of ALIMA and Project HOPE, the International Medical Corps and the International Organization for Migration in Ukraine, an outpatient clinic serving the residents of the village and surrounding settlements was renovated in Kyselivka, Kherson Oblast. They replaced the roof, windows and doors, renovated corridors and offices, laid new floors, and replaced the lighting. Now the facility offers vaccinations, blood pressure, heart checks, and laboratory tests. In addition, the outpatient clinic has equipped rooms for narrow specialists. Including a dentist.
