A grain exporter from Kyiv reimbursed the state eight million hryvnias after an investigation in Odesa region.
This was reported by the Bureau of Economic Security.
According to detectives, the Kyiv-based company, registered in August 2022, exported products worth almost UAH 2 billion in two years, paying only UAH 7 million in taxes. The investigation found that the exporter tried to export grain from the port of Odesa without the necessary documents on its origin, without reflecting it in tax returns.
During the investigation, the BES obtained evidence of tax evasion. Initially, the company complained about pressure and delay of the vessel by the BES, but within a week it pleaded guilty and compensated the state for the losses. The budget received more than UAH 8 million.
Recently, the BES exposed an exporting company that deliberately evaded paying taxes for a significant amount. The company tried to export agricultural products to China through Odesa region ports.
Before that, the company's CFO decided to "save" on export taxes in Odesa region. Through her fraud, she avoided paying almost UAH 100 million to the budget, for which she will now be prosecuted.
Another financial director of a company in Odesa region will be brought to trial for tax evasion. Thanks to his scheme, the exporting company owed the state more than UAH 19 million, for which the detainee will be held accountable.
Also in Odesa region, the SBU exposed an agricultural export company that had been evading taxes for some time. Such actions caused damage to the state budget in the amount of over UAH 12 million.
In addition, the BES detectives completed a pre-trial investigation into the intentional tax evasion on a particularly large scale by a company exporting agricultural products, namely wheat and corn.
