Taxpayers in Mykolaiv region have allocated almost UAH 600 million to support the Ukrainian army and strengthen the country's defense capabilities.
This was reported by the press service of the State Tax Service in Mykolaiv region.
According to the State Tax Service, residents of the region actively support the Armed Forces of Ukraine through timely and transparent payment of military duty. From January to August 2024, about UAH 600 million was transferred to the state budget, which is UAH 25 million more than in the same period last year.
The tax authorities will remind you that the military fee is withheld from income such as wages, incentive and compensation payments, as well as other payments related to labor relations. Therefore, taxpayers who want to support the army must receive legal income.
The military fee is paid by individuals - residents and non-residents - who receive income both in Ukraine and abroad. Each contribution of 1.5% of taxable income helps to strengthen the defense capability of our country.
In addition, taxpayers of Mykolaiv region paid UAH 14.2 billion to the budgets of different levels. As for the unified social tax, almost UAH 9.2 billion was paid in January-August 2024, which is UAH 907.9 million more than in the same period last year.
At the end of August, the Parliamentary Committee on Finance approved as a basis a revised draft law on amendments to the Tax Code regarding the specifics of taxation during martial law.
Among other things, it was planned to increase the military tax rate from 1.5% to 5%. The draft also proposes to set the corporate income tax rate for non-bank financial institutions at 25%.
Recently, the Verkhovna Rada failed to get the required number of votes in the first reading for the draft law No. 11416-d on increasing taxes by UAH 30 billion. Only 224 MPs voted in favor of the document. The bill was sent back for a second first reading. All MPs present, representing Mykolaiv region, decided to support the draft law.
