Lysak asked to deal with landslides in Chornomorka

An electronic petition asking for attention to the emergency situation with the slope in Chornomorets in Odesa was posted on the Socially Active Citizen platform.
The petition's author , Maria Pikh, asked the head of the Odesa City Military Administration, Serhiy Lysak, to address the problem.
"The beach has been closed since 2013, and no repairs have been carried out to strengthen the cliff. If the situation does not change, the property will collapse into the sea in a few years," explained the author of the petition.
Chornomorka is a nearby suburb of Odesa with its own beach, which has some peculiarities. Unlike other beaches located in the waters of the Gulf of Odesa, Chornomorka is located on the shore of the open sea.
Landslides occur regularly in Chornomorka. In May, the authors of the Zootopia channel, who systematically document landslides in the coastal areas of Odesa Oblast, showed in their video how Lustdorf is slowly sliding into the sea: the slopes are crumbling, washed away by rain and waves, and in some places, you can already see the gaps where there were once paths, buildings, and even beaches. In particular, the footage shows the site of the former rescue station and the Laguna bar - eroded cliffs, earthen mush and traces of recent landslides.
In July 2019, the beach, popularly called "Chornomorka," was closed to the public. The beach is located between the central beach of Odesa and the Borey boarding house. Despite the fact that the beach was closed, there were vacationers there - a husband and wife who almost died.
In May 2010, a landslide also occurred in the village of Chornomorka. After many days of rain, the coastal slope began to slide into the sea, taking with it the boathouses of the sport fishing club. The sinkhole posed a life-threatening threat to the residents of Chornomorka. The rescuers decided to evacuate the residents who could have been affected by the disaster.
Landslides are a negative natural phenomenon that has been accompanying the Odesa coast for almost two thousand years since the beginning of the city's development in antiquity. Experts count more than 250 landslides on the outskirts of Odesa only for the period from 1797 to the present (before 1797, there is practically no true information about landslides on the coast in the vicinity of Kochubiyevo - Khadzhibey).
