A Ukrainian lawyer, who became the head of the so-called "Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Crimea" after the occupation of Crimea, was suspected of collaboration. According to the investigation, he has been in charge of the occupation agency for more than ten years and continues to implement the legal policy of the aggressor state.
This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
According to the investigation, the suspect has been heading the occupation "ministry" for more than 10 years. In 2024, he was appointed to this position for the third time.
Investigators believe that in this position, he personally ensures the implementation of Russian legislation on the temporarily occupied peninsula, coordinates the work of subordinate bodies, including the so-called magistrates, and performs other tasks aimed at establishing Russian power in Crimea.
The man was notified of suspicion of collaboration. The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years in prison.
The prosecutor's office also noted that the suspect is on the sanctions lists of the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ukraine.
The pre-trial investigation in this case is carried out by the Main Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Earlier, Intent wrote that in Odesa, the founder of the company pleaded guilty to cooperation with the aggressor state during the occupation of Crimea. The investigation found that during 2022-2024, these structures acted in favor of the Russian Federation, providing services of ports, marinas, pilotage, vessel positioning and mooring.
In addition, it was found that while Ukraine was losing control of Crimea, Sevastopol's power grids were actually working for the Russian military machine - under the cover of a Ukrainian company. An extensive scheme with "clones" of companies and fictitious owners provided electricity to the Russian fleet and security forces for years, disguising the business as legal.
