The prosecutor's office has filed a case against a propagandist from a Crimean TV channel

The prosecutor's office has filed an indictment with the court against a host of the pro-Russian television channel "Millet" in Crimea. The journalist faces up to 10 years in prison for spreading Kremlin propaganda and publicly calling for changes to Ukraine's state borders.

This was reported by the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.

According to the investigation, the defendant worked as the host of the news program“Khabler” on the aforementioned TV channel. In doing so, he implemented a pro-Russian editorial policy. In particular, during the program’s broadcasts, he discussed alleged “sabotage operations” by Ukrainian special forces, “oppression of Crimean Muslims” by Ukraine, and the “fight against terrorism” by the occupying authorities, among other topics.

During his broadcasts, the defendant repeatedly and publicly called for changes to Ukraine’s territorial boundaries and state borders. His appearances were actively streamed on the “Millet” TV channel’s page onthe “Rutube” video hosting platform. 

As previously reported by Intent, a resident of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea was charged with collaboration for having become the occupation’s human rights commissioner in the Kherson region in March 2024. The indictment has already been submitted to the court. The defendant is subject to sanctions imposed by the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for his activities on behalf of the occupying forces.

The man participated in activities aimed at integrating Russian legislation into the temporarily occupied territories. He also gave interviews to pro-Russian media and publicly supported the implementation of Russian legislation in the occupied part of the Kherson region.
