In the Odesa region, law enforcement officials are investigating possible official negligence during procurement by the “Ecoservice” municipal enterprise in the Pivdennivska community. As part of the criminal investigation, two LED lights were seized, which may serve as evidence.

The Center for Public Investigations has examined the details of the case.

Investigators are looking into the circumstances of the procurement process, during which the lights may have been purchased at inflated prices. According to law enforcement, officials at the “Ecoservice” municipal enterprise of the Pivdennivska territorial community may have failed to ensure proper oversight of the reasonableness of the goods’ prices, which could have resulted in losses to the local budget.

In early October, law enforcement officials inspected part of a non-residential building used by the enterprise and seized two light fixtures. Investigators believe they may help establish the circumstances of a possible offense. The equipment was to be examined as part of forensic analyses.

The investigation began in June 2026. It concerns possible dereliction of duty during public procurement. Law enforcement officials are examining the circumstances surrounding two purchases of lighting equipment.

As Intent reported, in early October, a court in Pivdenne authorized an inspection of the warehouse of the municipal enterprise “Ecoservice” in a case involving the possible overpricing of purchased light fixtures. Law enforcement officials are also investigating where the defective fixtures went after they were replaced.
