The court handed down a sentence to the so-called village head of Rubanivka in the Kherson region, who had been appointed by the occupying authorities. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.
This is stated in the verdict of the Sosnivsky District Court of Cherkasy.
According to the case file, in May 2023, the man voluntarily agreed to lead the village of Rubanivka, which is under Russian occupation. His candidacy was endorsed at a meeting of local residents and subsequently approved by the so-called Council of Deputies of the Velyka Lepetykha Municipal District.
In his role as Gauleiter, he performed organizational and administrative functions, interacted with the occupation administration, and facilitated the work of the illegal authorities. In particular, in video recordings, he spoke about the activities of the school, the medical clinic, and road repairs involving representatives of the occupying authorities and Russian military personnel.

The court determined that the man acted voluntarily, without physical or psychological coercion. His actions were classified under articles concerning collaboration and treason under martial law.
Under the first charge, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison; under the second, 15 years. The final sentence was determined by absorbing the less severe sentence into the more severe one, resulting in 15 years behind bars.
Since the defendant is located in occupied territory, the term of imprisonment will be counted from the moment of his arrest. The verdict may be appealed within 30 days.
