The former mayor of Odesa has had his procedural obligations extended for another two months. He cannot leave the city and the region without a court order, must wear an electronic bracelet and adhere to restrictions on contacts with certain persons.

This was reported by the press service of the High Anti-Corruption Court.

The High Anti-Corruption Court has decided to extend the procedural duties of former Odesa Mayor Hennadiy Trukhanov for another two months. The decision granted the request of the SAPO prosecutor, so the term of his duties will now last until April 17, 2026 inclusive.

The former mayor's duties include

  • appear in court whenever summoned;
  • not to leave Odesa and Odesa region without a court order;
  • notify the court of any change of residence;
  • refrain from contact with the persons specified in the court order;
  • hand over documents entitling them to leave and return to Ukraine for safekeeping to the relevant authorities;
  • wear an electronic monitoring device.

The former mayor is charged with criminal offenses under Article 255(1), Article 28(4) and Article 364(2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Recently, the former mayor of Odesa, Gennadiy Trukhanov, stated that he had official documents confirming that he does not have Russian citizenship. According to him, he received a response on December 30, 2025. He also appealed to President Zelenskyy to have the documents verified and to make a fair decision.

In October last year, Trukhanov and his deputies were suspected of negligence in office, which caused the deaths of people during the September 30 floods. According to the investigation, the officials failed to provide a proper response to the disaster and allowed the weather to have large-scale consequences.

The storm that hit Odesa on September 30 caused significant damage, flooding streets, causing power outages, damaging property and toppling hundreds of trees. About 300 private and 400 apartment buildings were damaged, and 10 people died.
