At a grain terminal near Reni in the Odesa region, a female employee was killed and another woman was injured when a wall of a grain silo collapsed. The court has seized evidence in the case.
This is evidenced by a ruling from the Izmail City and District Court.
According to the investigation, on August 24, a wall of a grain silo collapsed at the “Potoki” terminal near Reni. As a result, grain spilled onto structures where two female employees were working at the time.
One of the women died from her injuries. The other suffered bruises and abrasions to both lower limbs. According to the court, both women were on the company’s premises at the time of the collapse.
Following the tragedy, investigators searched the terminal’s warehouse complex. During the investigation, they seized a video recorder, computer and network equipment, logs, rough notes, waybills, and other documents.
Some of the equipment is scheduled to be examined through computer forensic analysis, while the documents will be reviewed, analyzed, and organized.
The judge granted the police’s motion and ordered the seized items to be held in custody. Specifically, this includes a video recorder and network equipment, as well as visitor logs, records, waybills, and other documents seized on the premises of the complex operated by Potoki LLC.
As reported by Intent, the collapse occurred around 11:30 a.m. At the scene, rescue workers found collapsed building structures containing grain covering an area of approximately 150 square meters.
Two women, born in 1977 and 1986, were trapped under the rubble. Rescuers extracted them from beneath the debris and handed them over to medical personnel. One of the victims, a 40-year-old woman, later died in the hospital from her injuries. According to police, both women were employees of the company and were at their workplace at the time.
