Leonid Kondratsky, a resident of the Kherson region, has been held in illegal captivity in Russia for more than three years. The 67-year-old man, who was abducted in Nova Kakhovka, is currently being held in the city of Kamyshyn, Volgograd region.

This was reported by IRS-South correspondent Oleg Baturin.

According to human rights activists, no investigative actions are being carried out against the pensioner, and there are no official charges or court verdicts in his case. The situation with Kondratskiy is yet another example of arbitrary detention of civilians, which contradicts international conventions on the protection of human rights. Despite the absence of any investigative actions or court verdicts, the man continues to be held in SIZO-2 in Kamyshyn, Volgograd region.

Leonid was first illegally detained in early March 2022 and severely beaten. After his release, they came for him for the second time in April, when the occupiers searched his apartment and seized his phone. The final arrest took place on October 7, 2022.

According to his daughter, Iryna Lytvynenko, during the man's stay in the occupied Crimea, they tried to accuse him of 'international terrorism', but currently no official claims are being made against him in Russia. The family tried to get information through the pre-trial detention center and the Russian Ombudsman Moskalkova, but received no answers about the reasons for his detention. The only source of news is the Ukrainians released from captivity.

''The boys say they do not understand why the Russians are holding their father. Nothing is happening: no investigations, no verdicts,'' says Iryna.

According to his former cellmates, Leonid's health condition is critical: he has lost more than 30 kilograms and has serious problems with his legs - it is difficult for the pensioner to even get up and sit down. The International Committee of the Red Cross confirmed Kondratsky's captivity only at the end of 2022.
