A passenger was shot on a trolleybus in Mykolaiv

A routine reprimand for using profanity on a Mykolaiv trolleybus ended in a shooting. A 17-year-old boy fired at least five shots at a passenger.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police in Mykolaiv Oblast.
The incident occurred on September 24 at approximately 8:35 p.m. on a trolleybus operating on Route No. 2.
According to police, the conflict began after a 46-year-old passenger reprimanded a group of young people who were swearing inside the vehicle. An argument broke out between the man and one of the teenagers, which escalated into a scuffle.
During the altercation, the passenger pulled out a knife and fended off the teenager. After that, the group of teenagers got off at the next stop.
However, at the next stop, another member of the group boarded the trolleybus. He opened fire on the man, firing at least five shots, and then fled.
The victim sustained facial injuries but refused medical attention.
Police identified the individuals involved in the conflict using surveillance cameras, including the “Safe City” system and footage from public transportation.
They turned out to be local residents aged 15, 16, and 17. Law enforcement officers determined that the shooter was a 17-year-old boy.
He was detained. Investigators are currently determining all the circumstances of the incident.
Earlier, a shooting occurred in Mykolaiv, resulting in the deaths of two foreign nationals. Police detained a third person involved in the incident.
It later emerged that the two deceased foreigners, as well as the man who shot them, had served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Chilean soldier now faces a sentence ranging from 15 years to life in prison.
