A court approved a plea agreement with a woman from Kherson who held leadership positions in Russian government agencies during the occupation. She avoided a prison sentence but is required to testify against other collaborators.

This is stated in the verdict of the Kherson City Court.

According to the case file, no later than July 2022, the Kherson resident voluntarily accepted the position of head of the legal and personnel department in the occupation-era Department of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson Region. Following the reorganization of the institution, she became the head of the personnel department of the so-called Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries of the Kherson Region.

She was found guilty of collaboration under Part 5 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The woman pleaded guilty and entered into a plea agreement with the prosecutor.

Under the terms of the agreement, she must provide truthful testimony regarding the activities of other individuals suspected of collaborating with the occupying authorities, as well as assist the investigation in exposing those involved in crimes against Ukraine’s national security.

The court sentenced her to five years in prison and barred her from holding positions in state or local government bodies, as well as from engaging in activities related to the provision of public services, for a period of eight years.

At the same time, the woman was exempted from serving the principal sentence and placed on a two-year probationary period. During this time, she must fulfill the obligations established by the court, including regularly reporting to the probation office and notifying authorities of any change in her place of residence or employment.

Another ruling concerns bail. The court ordered that, once the verdict becomes final, the 266,240 hryvnias posted on behalf of the defendant be transferred to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
