A judge granted the police temporary access to documents belonging to a company that supplies furniture for school cafeterias in the Primorsky District of Odesa. In this case, law enforcement officials suspect significant price inflation in the procurement process.
This is stated in a ruling by the Primorsky District Court of Odessa.
The investigating judge granted the police’s motion and ordered the supplier to provide copies of the contract, specifications, initial and tender documentation, as well as information about subcontractors involved and bank transactions. The ruling is valid for two months and is not subject to appeal.
In the motion, the investigator explained that the company’s documents are essential for establishing the facts of the case, as it is impossible to prove them by any other means. Furthermore, they are necessary for further investigative actions and for identifying all individuals involved in the offense.
According to the investigation, on July 31, 2026, one of Odesa’s municipal agencies entered into a contract with a private company to purchase furniture for the cafeterias of educational institutions in the Primorsky District. The total value of the contract was 7,847,919 hryvnias.
While monitoring the public procurement system, law enforcement officials detected signs of a possible overpricing of goods compared to market prices for similar products in Ukraine. They launched a pretrial investigation on August 5, 2026.
