The decision to provide free travel by city electric transport (tram, trolleybus) for students of grades 1-11 of general secondary education institutions in Odesa came into force on January 1, 2026, and will be in effect until the end of martial law. In this article, we will analyze what you need to do to get free transportation.
There are two main options for obtaining the right to free transportation: from the school principal and through the Mriya digital system.
A student who wants to be eligible for free transportation should contact the school principal and ask for a document that contains the following information
There is no single approved form for the document, schools make it on their own.
In 2025, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, began implementing the Mriya digital system in schools. "Mriya is an educational platform that combines technology, artificial intelligence, and a personalized approach to learning. It consists of a web portal and a mobile application. The Mriya mobile app is a school office that contains everything for learning. Here you can find: class schedules, homework, teacher grades and comments, teaching materials and video tutorials, and messages from the school.
The main idea behind the Mriya mobile app is to make learning convenient and accessible anywhere, which is quite important during a full-scale war. For example, a child can study while abroad. "Mriya helps them not to lose their assignments, not to get confused in the schedule, and to communicate with teachers promptly.
The educational mobile application Mriya contains a digital student ID card called Mriya-ID. This card can be used instead of a paper student ID card to confirm student status, including for travel privileges.
Installing Mriya on your mobile phone is as easy as any other application.
