President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a decree appointing a new head of the Security Service of Ukraine in Kherson region.

The President signed the relevant decree on April 22, 2026.

According to document No. 338 of 2026, Volodymyr Vavrukh was appointed to this position. No other details about the personnel decision have been made public.

In turn, the head of the Kherson Regional State Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, congratulated the newly appointed head and expressed hope for effective cooperation.

He noted that he looks forward to effective work for the safety of the region's residents and thanked the previous head, Artem Borysevych, for his service and results.

According to Prokudin, Borysevych's experience will strengthen the work of the SBU in Kyiv and Kyiv region, where he will continue to serve.

As a reminder, the former investigator from Kherson found herself on the other side of the law - she is now suspected of crimes against the state. According to the investigation, the woman not only received a Russian passport, but also systematically promoted pro-Russian narratives and justified the war against Ukraine.

According to law enforcement officers, the suspect supported the propaganda theses of the aggressor state regarding the so-called "special military operation," justified it and spread disinformation about the events in Kherson region. It was also established that in July 2022, the woman received a Russian passport and, according to her, was proud of it.

She was charged with encroachment on the territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as the production and dissemination of materials justifying Russian aggression and denying the temporary occupation of Ukrainian territories. The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by the SBU investigators in Kherson region.

A resident of Kherson was also placed under house arrest for spreading pro-Russian propaganda. For a long time, the man published and distributed materials that justified Russian aggression against Ukraine and glorified its participants.
