Yevhen Larionov, Odesa artist, author of "Monster Book", dies

Artist, caricaturist, computer graphics master Yevhen Larionov, who returned to Odesa from Europe in 2024, died on June 1 at 19:55.

This was reported by the artist's friend Oleh Hakobyan on Facebook.

Yevhen Larionov was known for launching a new genre in art. His vector artworks are funny pictures, caricatures, caricatures of people and life made using computer graphics. He is also the author of "Monster Alphabet", a series of books where each letter of the English alphabet is illustrated by some monsters. The books are designed for children - the artist himself admitted that the idea to create such an alphabet appeared when his son was learning a foreign language at the age of five.

Leonid Kondratiuk, formerly Honorary Doctor of Ukraine, honorary citizen of Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa Oblast and a member of five convocations, died on the morning of May 25.

The oldest resident of Kilia in Odesa region , poet Nina Chernobykina, died on April 18 at the age of 104. Nina Chernobykina was born in 1921 in the city of Kamyshlov in the Urals. There she graduated from high school and a pedagogical college with a degree in elementary school.

Volodymyr Teravsky, an honorary resident of the Artsyz community in Odesa Oblast, an honored surgeon and longtime employee of the Artsyz hospital, died on April 17 at the age of 90.

Actor, comedian, longtime participant of the Mask Show, musician Volodymyr Komarov died on March 29, and on April 1, Odesa said goodbye to him. Cinematographer, People's Artist of Ukraine, director of the Odesa Film Studio, Willen Novak also died on March 29.

In February, Rimma Lytvak, a scholar in the field of social pedagogy, teacher, educator, public figure, philanthropist, wife of honorary citizen of Odesa and Odesa region, Hero of Ukraine Borys Lytvak, died in Odesa at the age of 95.
