The oldest resident of Kiliya died

The oldest resident of Kilia in Odesa Oblast, poet Nina Chernobykina, died on April 18 at the age of 104.

This was reported by the mayor of Kilia, Vyacheslav Chernyavsky.

"A bright soul, Nina Petrovna Chernobykina, has passed away. 104 years is not just a long age, it is a whole universe of wisdom, kindness and poetic words given to us. The lines she wrote will remain a silent prayer on the lips of her descendants. She was a living legend, a guardian of the word who saw the centuries change, but always remained faithful to her native land and poetry," he wrote.

Nina Chernobykina was born in 1921 in the city of Kamyshlov in the Urals. There she graduated from high school and a pedagogical college with a degree in elementary education. In 1950, Nina Chernobykina's family moved to Ukraine, to the Odesa region, and in 1956 to Kiliya. Nina Chernobykina worked as a machinist in the prosecutor's office, military registration and enlistment office, and the machine bureau. In her spare time, she led a ballet and dance class, sewed, embroidered, and knitted. She raised three children. She began writing poetry at the age of 70.

Volodymyr Teravsky, an honorary resident of the Artsyz community in Odesa Oblast, an honored surgeon and longtime employee of the Artsyz hospital, died on April 17 at the age of 90.

In September 2024, the doctor retired, and in 2021 his name was entered in the Ukrainian Book of Records as the oldest practicing surgeon. At that time, the doctor was 85 years old. Volodymyr Teravsky was born in Khmelnytskyi, but lived and worked in Artsyz for 50 years.

Earlier, actor, comedian, longtime participant of the Mask Show, musician Volodymyr Komarov died on March 29, and on April 1, Odesa said goodbye to him. Cinematographer, People's Artist of Ukraine, director of the Odesa Film Studio, Willen Novak also died on March 29.

In February, Rimma Lytvak, a scholar in the field of social pedagogy, teacher, educator, public figure, philanthropist, wife of the honorary citizen of Odesa and Odesa region, Hero of Ukraine Borys Lytvak, died in Odesa at the age of 95.
