In Kherson region, two local residents who actively assisted the enemy in the information war were served suspicion notices in absentia. According to the investigation, a 55-year-old resident of Kherson and a 37-year-old resident of Beryslav voluntarily joined the organization 'Union of Mothers of Kherson Region' created by the occupiers in August 2022.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office.

The investigation found that the suspects were regular participants in public events organized by the illegal authorities. The women were regularly paid in Russian rubles for their 'public activities'. In addition to participating in the crowd, in late summer 2022, they were distributing hostile press in Kherson.

These publications glorified the occupation administration and contained direct appeals to residents of the region to renounce Ukrainian citizenship in favor of Russian citizenship.

The actions of the women were legally assessed under Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (collaboration). The pre-trial investigation is being conducted by investigators of the Police Department No. 1 of the Kherson District Police Department. According to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court, but the evidence collected has already allowed them to be formally suspected.

Also, Kherson City Court has completed the trial of Olga Golovachova. The woman was found guilty of collaborating with the occupation authorities under the article on collaboration.

The court sentenced her to nine years in prison with confiscation of all her property. In addition to the main term, the convicted woman was banned for 10 years from holding positions in state and local government bodies and from providing public services.

The investigation established that in July 2022, Holovachova voluntarily headed the HR department in the occupation Department of Labor and Social Policy of Kherson region. After the reorganization of the institution into the so-called ministry, the woman continued to perform her duties in a senior position. The convict's guilt was confirmed by three witnesses who testified to her work in the illegally created structure.
