Today, on October 20, water supply will be temporarily suspended in a large part of Voznesensk.

This was reported by the Voznesensk City Council.

The shutdown started at 10:30 a.m. and is due to an accident in the water supply network and the need to urgently replace a valve on Odeska Street. The water supply will be resumed as soon as the emergency repairs are completed.

It is worth noting that in neighboring Mykolaiv, the connection to the new water supply system was completed on October 7. According to Mayor Oleksandr Sienkevych, the water supply system is already operating in the Mykolaivvodokanal system.

The city's wastewater treatment plant is also undergoing a filtration upgrade : 4 out of 8 filters have been replaced so far, and the remaining 4 are scheduled to be replaced in the near future. Vitaliy Kim, the head of the UWA, previously stated that Mykolaiv residents can expect clean water in their taps around the end of 2025 or early next year.

By the end of 2025, a modern filtration station is to be launched at the water supply system in Mykolaiv. Its key feature is the full automation of the water treatment and quality control process.

Oleksandr Kolomiytsev, Head of Infrastructure Restoration and Development, explained the main idea: "The system will determine which reagents need to be added to ensure that the water is of the quality that meets the state standards of Ukraine." The station will also be able to automatically take water samples to determine its safety.

However, despite the introduction of a high-tech treatment system, there are still significant concerns. The cleanest water from the filters is contaminated when it enters the existing municipal water supply system. Vodokanal Mykolaiv admits that the quality of the water in the pipes currently "leaves much to be desired," which poses a problem for the ultimate efficiency of the new water system.
