Water is more expensive in Odesa than in Mykolaiv and Kherson

New rates for centralized water supply and sewer service have been in effect in Odesa since August 15. At the same time, the cost of heat supply for residents remains at the level that was in effect before the full-scale invasion.

This is reported in an article by the Center for Public Investigations.

The water supply rate in Odesa is 30.59 hryvnia per cubic meter, excluding VAT, and the wastewater disposal rate is 24.03 hryvnia per cubic meter, excluding VAT. These rates were set by the head of the Odesa City Military Administration.

By comparison, water rates in Mykolaiv and Kherson are currently lower. In Mykolaiv, water supply costs 14.61 hryvnia, and wastewater disposal costs 13.76 hryvnia per cubic meter, excluding VAT. In Kherson, the rates are 13.15 and 12.43 hryvnias, respectively.

At the same time, in Odesa, the heating rate for residential customers is 1,813.94 hryvnia per 1 Gcal. The monthly service fee is 21.17 hryvnia without meter maintenance and 24.94 hryvnia with meter maintenance.

Odessa residents also pay for household waste collection. Depending on the service provider, the rate per 1 cubic meter ranges from 104.61 to 110.23 hryvnias. By comparison, in Mykolaiv, this service costs 382.69 hryvnia per cubic meter.

The cost of managing an apartment building in Odesa depends on the specific building and the management company. In general, the rate ranges from 3 to 11 hryvnias per square meter, most often 5–6 hryvnias.
