Victim of Odesa port missile attack dies in hospital

A man who suffered from a Russian missile attack on the port of Odesa on May 23 died in hospital and became the third victim of the attack.

This was announced by the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper.

According to him, the victim is 41 years old. Earlier, another victim, a 71-year-old man, died in hospital.

On May 23, Russia launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at the port infrastructure of Odesa. The attack killed a port worker. Eight other people were injured: four in serious condition, two in moderate condition, and two with minor injuries.

The ballistic attack also damaged the port's critical infrastructure.
Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba said that the engine room was damaged, windows and doors in administrative buildings were smashed, and vehicles and equipment were destroyed.

It should be noted that on May 24 at night, according to the Prosecutor' s Office of Odesa region, the Russian armed forces attacked Odesa region with attack drones. The enemy hit port infrastructure facilities.

On the morning of May 23, the Russian military launched a drone attack on Odesa and its suburbs. As a result of the attack, two civilians were injured - a 46-year-old man and a 60-year-old woman. Both were hospitalized. Prosecutors opened criminal proceedings over the shelling under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - violation of the laws and customs of war.

On the night of May 16, an enemy drone attack destroyed the house of Igor Bilyakov, director of the Odesa Zoo. He was not injured. Then Russian troops attacked Odesa region with "shaheds". Civilian objects in Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi and Odesa districts came under fire. Three people were injured - two men and a woman. They were diagnosed with shrapnel wounds, fractures, thermal burns and mine-blast injuries. All of them were at home when they became victims of the shelling.
