The day before, the building of the Kherson Regional Museum of Local History was damaged in the center of Kherson as a result of an attack by Russian FPV drones. The strike caused a fire in the technical rooms, which damaged part of the historic interior.

According to the museum, the fire destroyed unique wooden museum display cases from the early 20th century. They were made of natural wood, had been used to display collections for over 120 years, and were eventually intended to become museum exhibits themselves. The museum also noted that thanks to the timely evacuation of the collections, the museum’s exhibits were not damaged.
