The Mykolaiv Central District Court ordered that a woman suspected of passing information to Russian military personnel about the locations and movements of Ukrainian defenders in the Kherson region be held in custody. According to investigators, she coordinated the collection of information through an acquaintance who was in the village of Kizomys in the Bilozerska community.

This is stated in the court’s ruling dated October 26, 2026.

According to the case file, the suspect is a citizen of Ukraine but has been living and working in Russia permanently since 2014. No later than April 2026, according to the investigation, she conspired with a representative of the aggressor state who was directing shelling of the coastline and islands of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary near Kizomys.

To gather information, the woman enlisted the help of an acquaintance—a resident of Kizomys. As stated in the court ruling, this acquaintance collected information on the locations of Ukrainian military personnel, artillery systems, and mortar positions, as well as the movements of military equipment and weapons.

From April through June 10, 2026, the women exchanged messages via the Imo messaging app. According to the investigation, the Kizomys resident provided information on the locations of Ukrainian troops, specifying streets and specific buildings, as well as the locations of firing positions. The suspect verified the data she received and passed it on to a Russian representative.

The investigation also alleges that, through the suspect, her acquaintance requested that her safe movement outside the village be ensured and that the house where she lived not be shelled.

According to information from the Ukrainian forces’ command cited in the ruling, the information transmitted corresponded to the actual locations where Defense Forces units were carrying out combat missions. In the areas mentioned in the correspondence, artillery shelling, as well as strikes by unmanned aerial vehicles and FPV drones, were recorded.

The woman was notified of her status as a suspect under Part 3 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — the unauthorized dissemination of information regarding the movements or locations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine under martial law, carried out by a group of individuals acting in concert with the intent to transmit such information to an aggressor state.

She failed to appear before the investigator, and on October 14, she was placed on the wanted list. The court determined that the suspect is in Russia. On October 26, the investigating judge granted the investigation’s motion and ordered her to be held in custody without setting bail.
