Three people were killed and 18 others were wounded in the Kherson region as a result of Russian aggression

On July 17, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Kherson region using artillery and drones. Three people were killed and 18 others were wounded as a result of the shelling.

According to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, from 6:00 a.m. on July 17 to 6:00 a.m. on July 18, Kherson and more than 40 settlements in the region came under enemy attack.

Russian forces targeted critical and social infrastructure, as well as residential neighborhoods. A high-rise building, eight private homes, a cell tower, and private vehicles were damaged.

As a result of the Russian aggression, three people were killed and another 18 were wounded.

According to Prokudin, three people were evacuated from liberated communities in the region over the past 24 hours. Residents of frontline settlements are urged to relocate to safer regions by contacting the regional contact center.

The Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported that a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the latest Russian attacks under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (violation of the laws and customs of war).

According to the investigation, on July 17, the Russian army shelled the Kherson region with artillery and launched drone attacks. As of 5:30 p.m., two people were reported killed and 12 wounded.

Specifically, a 69-year-old woman was killed in Kherson that morning as a result of artillery shelling. Later, in the regional capital, a Russian drone fatally wounded a 70-year-old local resident. Six other people were also injured in Kherson, including a rescue worker.

Another six civilians were injured in attacks by Russian drones in Kherson, Pryozernoye, Khreshchenivka, and Novovorontsovka. The shelling also damaged private homes, apartment buildings, a warehouse, and vehicles.
