Internal migration has increased in Kherson following an intensification of KAB attacks

Following the KAB strikes, residents of Kherson began leaving dangerous areas of the city and moving to relatively safer neighborhoods. Some residents are also leaving the city due to intensified Russian shelling.

This was reported by Yaroslav Shanko, head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, during a televised marathon

According to him, following the intensification of attacks by FPV drones and the use of guided bombs by Russian troops, there has been a steady exodus of residents from the city.

Some people are leaving the community entirely, while others are leaving the so-called “red zones” and moving to relatively safer areas of Kherson.

However, the head of the Military-Civilian Administration emphasized that the entire territory of the community remains a zone of active hostilities.

Against the backdrop of the deteriorating security situation, the Kherson Regional Defense Council has expanded the list of territories where mandatory evacuation has been ordered. This list now includes Zelenivka, Charivne, the Khreshchenivsky Starosta District, as well as a number of streets in Kherson.

According to the Kherson Regional State Administration, the decision was made due to the intensification of Russian shelling in the Kherson, Novovorontsov, and Beryslav communities. Families with children have also been barred from entering these areas due to the threat to their lives.

In Kherson, the mandatory evacuation will apply to the Tekstilny microdistrict, certain streets in the Central, Korabelny, and Dniprovsky districts—specifically Universytetska, Teatralna, and Biloruska Streets— Kommunalna, as well as streets and alleys in the direction of the Koshova and Dnipro rivers.

According to Shank, there are currently just over 60,000 people living in the Kherson community, including more than 4,000 children.

At the same time, the city continues to strengthen its defenses against drone attacks.

According to the head of the Military Administration, anti-drone nets have already been installed along nearly 40 kilometers of roads. The installation of protective structures along public transportation routes and other highly vulnerable areas is also underway.

To promptly warn the public about the threat of drones, the “Radar Kherson” Telegram channel is in operation, where information about Russian drone activity is published in real time, and areas of greatest danger are reported every morning.
