The Ukrainian delegation arrived safely in the occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region. The evacuation of local residents and the distribution of humanitarian aid have already begun there.

This was reported by Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

“We’re in Oleshky! The Ukrainian delegation has safely reached the city,” the ombudsman said.

According to him, the ceasefire has been in effect for 80 hours and continues. Lubinets is currently speaking with local residents to learn about their needs and understand what kind of assistance they need most. He promised to provide details later.

The ombudsman added that the delegation’s work is proceeding in accordance with agreements reached with Yana Lantratova, the Human Rights Commissioner of the Russian Federation.

“Our top priority is the people who need help. We are doing everything possible to support them and help every man and woman who needs it,” Lubinets emphasized.

The humanitarian mission was organized as part of agreements between Ukraine and Russia, with the assistance of U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. These agreements provide for a temporary ceasefire in designated areas of Oleshky to allow for the delivery of humanitarian aid and the preparation of a safe evacuation of the civilian population.

The ceasefire in the designated areas took effect at 3:00 a.m. on October 27, Kyiv time. According to the agreement, it is to last until the evening of November 1.
