The Special Forces struck five Russian air defense assets and three Russian ships simultaneously

On the night of August 8–9, the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces struck an S-400 “Triumph” anti-aircraft missile system, four additional components of Russia’s air defense system, and three Russian Federation vessels in the Black Sea.

This was reported by Robert Brovdi “Madyar,” commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Unmanned Systems Forces.

According to him, an S-400 “Triumph” air defense system position near Gelendzhik in Krasnodar Krai was struck. According to the commander, the system fired six missiles on August 8, after which Ukrainian drone operators launched a strike. The S-400 position, Brovdi reported, burned for about three hours.

In addition, the Unmanned Systems Forces struck a “Tor” anti-aircraft missile system in the Rostov Region, a “Pantsir-S1” anti-aircraft missile and gun system in Yeysk, as well as “Podlyot-K1” and “Kasta 2E2” radar stations.

Furthermore, according to the Unmanned Systems Forces, three Russian vessels were struck in the Black Sea—an oil tanker and two dry cargo ships—which were being used as part of the so-called “shadow fleet.”

The Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces emphasized that operations to destroy Russian air defense assets will continue.

Earlier, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom and former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,Valerii Zaluzhnyi, stated that the Ukrainian military had developed a plan to remotely isolate the temporarily occupied Crimea as early as 2023. However, at that time, Western partners did not believe the plan would be effective.

Ukraine is conducting a large-scale campaign to isolate occupied Crimea by targeting the peninsula’s logistics infrastructure—the Kerch Bridge, ferry crossings, oil depots, ports, and ships of Russia’s “shadow fleet.”
