The Security Service of Ukraine struck a coordination center and a base where Russian FSB officers were stationed in the temporarily occupied territory of the Kherson region. The operation was carried out by special forces from the “Alpha” Special Operations Center.
According to the SBU, the occupiers’ coordination center was established at one of the vacation resorts in the temporarily occupied Kherson region. Preliminary estimates suggest that there may have been about 100 Russian military personnel at the facility.
SBU intelligence determined that there were more than 70 vehicles on the complex’s grounds. The facility was guarded by armed units, checkpoints were in operation, and engineering barriers and underground shelters had been set up.
During the special operation, 13 SBU drones struck the FSB personnel’s deployment site. The attack triggered a massive fire on the facility’s grounds.
The agency notes that such special operations inflict significant losses on Russian troops in the temporarily occupied territories, disrupt their command and control systems, force them to redeploy additional forces to protect their own facilities, and complicate logistics and supply for FSB units.
In July, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the destruction of the Russian border patrol ship “Izumrud” near Novorossiysk. According to the Ukrainian military, the strike was carried out using a Sargan-3000 unmanned maritime system.
The ship sustained critical damage and was destroyed near the pier. According to preliminary reports, there are fatalities and injuries among the crew members.
