The person who directed the strikes on Mykolaiv was sentenced to 15 years in prison

A resident of Mykolaiv who helped direct Russian shelling of the city received a harsh sentence. The man was sentenced to 15 years in prison, with his property confiscated.

According to the Security Service of Ukraine,<span>the suspect</span>was detained back in February 2026.

<span> </span>According to the SBU, he was recruited by FSB agents due to anti-Ukrainian posts on Telegram channels.

After being recruited, the man began tracking the locations of Ukrainian defense forces in the port city. He passed the information he obtained to the enemy to help them prepare missile and drone strikes.

The occupiers were most interested in the coordinates of logistics warehouses and the deployment sites of Ukrainian air defense units. To gather this information, the suspect rode a bicycle around the regional center and surrounding areas, covertly filming Ukrainian facilities with his phone camera.

SBU officers uncovered the man’s espionage activities early on and detained him at his residence. During searches, they seized computer equipment and a phone containing evidence of his collaboration with the Russian intelligence service.

The court found the man guilty of high treason committed under martial law and sentenced him to 15 years in prison with confiscation of property.

Also, a soldier was recently tried in the Mykolaiv region for filming the movement ofUkrainian Armed Forcesmilitary equipment and posting the videos on the popular social media platform TikTok.

<span> </span>Meanwhile, in Odesa, law enforcement officials exposed a former Odesa City Council official who publicly and joyfully welcomed the occupation of Ukrainian territories and thanked the enemy for the offensive.<span>  </span>
