A 60-year-old resident of Kherson is suspected of disseminating materials that justify Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The court ordered that the woman be held in pretrial detention.

This was reported by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Investigators note that the owner of a local tailor shop used her own social media accounts for nearly four years to spread pro-Russian messages and justify the occupation of Ukrainian territories. She maintained profiles on various news sites and Telegram channels targeting residents of the Kherson region.

In her posts and comments, the suspect justified the actions of the occupying forces, spread claims about Kherson’s alleged “Russian” status, supported the seizure of Ukrainian territories, and denied the fact of Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. She continued to do so even after the city was liberated.

Earlier, a verdict was handed down to a former official from the Kherson region who agreed to head the so-called “Kakhovka Territorial Election Commission,” established by the Russian Federation’s occupation administration. She organized the preparation and conduct of sham elections to the illegal “Council of Deputies”: she issued credentials to members of precinct commissions, compiled voter lists, certified the voting results, and participated in the first meeting of the occupying body.

Prior to the occupation, she was implicated in a scandal involving violations during the procurement of food for kindergartens in Kakhovka.
