In Crimea, due to drought and lack of rainfall, Lake Sasyk-Sivash, known for changing color depending on the season due to algae blooms, has dried up. It is in the period from July to August that it acquires a bright pink hue.

This was reported by Holos Kryma.

The algae that give the lake its color produce beta-carotene, which is a powerful antioxidant used in the food industry. In addition, the lake is famous for its healing properties. At its bottom, a special black mud rich in minerals is formed, which is used to treat skin and joint diseases. However, since 2014, the situation has been deteriorating. After the occupation of Crimea, the Russian authorities began using water from artesian wells for the needs of the population, which led to a decrease in water levels.

Meanwhile, Crimean collaborator Nozdrina headed the occupied Askania-Nova. Olena Nozdrina has extensive experience of cooperation with the occupation authorities. After the annexation of Crimea, she worked in the illegal administration of Simferopol and the occupation Ministry of Property and Land Relations. She also participated in the illegal elections, working in the precinct election commission. The traitor has been working in the reserve for more than a year, where she initially came to the position of deputy director.

Russian air defense fire has destroyed a thousand hectares in the Askania-Nova reserve . According to Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, the fire engulfed 942 hectares of the protected area in the Pivdennyi massif, as well as about 104 hectares of agricultural land around it. According to preliminary data, the fire was caused by a Russian anti-aircraft system based directly on the territory of the reserve.
