The heating season begins in Mykolaiv on November 3. Consumers will be connected in stages. Heat will first be supplied to hospitals, educational institutions, and social welfare facilities, followed by residential buildings. The full launch of the heating system is expected to take 10 days.

This was announced by Mykolaiv Mayor Oleksandr Sekevych.

According to him, the city council’s executive committee adopted the relevant decision.

Healthcare, educational, and social welfare facilities, as well as other social institutions, will be the first to be connected to the heating system. Only after that will heat begin to be supplied to residential buildings.

The heating system will not be launched simultaneously throughout the entire city. Over the course of ten days, boiler rooms will gradually begin operations, and heat will be supplied to all consumers.

Separately, the mayor explained how heating charges will be calculated. Billing will be based on the actual dates each residential building is connected to the system. In other words, charges will depend on exactly when a specific building begins receiving heat.

According to the law (specifically, Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 830), heating in residential buildings begins when the average daily air temperature is +8 °C or lower for three consecutive days.
