The head of the Mykolaiv Regional Territorial Recruitment Center and Joint Staff has been suspended from duty. The matter concerns agreements involving three men subject to military service and one man who was mobilized separately.
This was reported by the press office of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Defense Affairs in the Southern Region.
According to the investigation, the official demanded and received 15,000 U.S. dollars from a woman. In exchange for this money, he promised not to take mobilization measures against the three men subject to military service, to remove them from the wanted listin the “Oberig” information system, and to ensure they could continue working unimpeded at their places of employment.
In addition, according to investigators, the official promised to ensure that a mobilized citizen would not be accepted into a military unit. He was also supposed to arrange for the individual to undergo a second military medical examination.
He is charged with soliciting and accepting a bribe. The judge ordered him held in custody and set bail at 4,659,000 hryvnias.
A pretrial investigation is currently underway. Law enforcement officials are establishing all the circumstances of the criminal offense and identifying other individuals who may be involved.
The official was detained while receiving anotherinstallment of the bribe. According to the investigation, he received 10,000 dollars to prevent the mobilization of three men.
Previously, law enforcement had documented his receipt of another $5,000. In exchange for this sum, the head of the TCC was supposed to have the mobilized man re-examined by the medical commission and not send him to a military unit.
