The tragedy that claimed the life of a young woman during the attack on the city prompted efforts to provide support to her loved ones. Odessa decided to allocate funds to the family of the deceased as part of the city’s program to assist victims of Russian aggression.

The decision was announced by Ihor Koval, acting mayor of Odesa, during a meeting of the Odesa City Council’s executive committee.

The family of Daria Kravchenko, a Kyiv resident who was killed in Odesa, will receive financial assistance from the city budget. The decision was announced by Ihor Koval, acting mayor of Odesa, during a meeting of the Odesa City Council’s executive committee.

According to him, financial support for the families of those who died as a result of Russia’s armed aggression is provided for under the city’s social program. It is within this framework that assistance will be provided to Daria’s family.

Ihor Koval noted that the tragedy was a consequence of the full-scale war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine. At the same time, the official emphasized that a legal assessment of the actions or inaction of any individuals in this case should be provided exclusively by law enforcement agencies, which are currently conducting an investigation.

City authorities also once again appealed to residents and visitors of Odesa, urging them not to ignore air raid sirens and to strictly follow safety rules under martial law.

On the afternoon of June 23,26-year-old Daria Kravchenko died on one of the city’s beaches. The Kyiv resident’s partner stated his intention to seek punishment for all those involved in the tragedy.

Ivan Noskov saidthat although the beach was officially closed, it was effectively open for business: a bar was operating there, and beach chairs and loungers were being rented out to vacationers. At the same time, he said, there were neither lifeguards nor medical personnel on the premises.

He noted that after the air raid siren sounded, he and Daria went to the bar, and after the all-clear was given, they returnedto the beach. A few minutes later, an explosion rang out. According to the man, a piece of shrapnel fatally wounded the woman in the neck.

At the same time, the beach where a woman was killed as a result of a Russian attack on June 23 is not officially included in the list of places where recreation is permitted. City hall officials explained toan Intentac correspondentthat they lack the legal mechanism to hold beaches operating without proper authorization administratively liable.
